About Us

Welcome to VisceraLight!

Promoting artistic endeavors by featuring and supporting artists we  find inspirational. Opening a dialogue between those who create and those who appreciate art and want to learn more. Let's share in the spirit of collaboration.

This blog is a collaborative effort of artists Augusta Rose and Meghan Carmichael.

Meghan Carmichael, originally from Cape Cod MA, is a freelance contemporary dancer and choreographer. She graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Contemporary Dance. At this point in her life, her goal as an artist is to continue forward in her craft, developing each creative process through collaboration. She holds joy and love in her heart for the vastness of this world… through traveling, couchsurfing, volunteering on organic farms, weeding, baking, meditating, contact improv, gaga, choreographing, hiking, making campfires, sleeping outside, knitting gifts, coloring books, collaging, pretending to speak other languages, singing at the top of her lungs, playing the mandolin, debating ideas, as well as sharing thoughts and laughs. Some long-term bucket-list dreams of hers are…. hiking the Inca Trail in Peru, volunteering across the globe, earning her MFA, seeing the Aurora Borealis and building her own little house with a beautiful garden.

Her personal blog is whimsicalvoice.tumblr.com

Augusta Rose is a moon child with the wild desire to travel and explore. Her family heritage has rooted her in Cape Cod and sprouted her deep affinity for the forest and the sea. She has a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in photography, philosophy, psychology, art and communication studies. Originally a self-taught photographer, she has been developing her voice through artistic portraiture and is now exploring other mediums. She recently finished producing a documentary for a non-profit organization that is building schools in remote villages of Nepal. (Check it out right here!) Augusta appreciates soft lighting, fog, strong hands, clean air, and memorable business cards. She enjoys long rain walks, trees, and the occasional hard cider. She is notorious for talking and writing in lengthy paragraphs and doodling trees, eyeballs, and flowers. An integral part of her dharma is to open others to a more mindful, creative, sustainable, and holistic lifestyle.
